In the second part of the interview with RoseAnn and her daughter Jessica, they talk about the family's participation in the Type 1 Diabetes TrialNet. RoseAnn hoped to learn if any of her other children would be likely to develop it, but instead, learned that she herself will, and talks about what she has learned from her daughter while participating in the prevention study: "I don’t really understand fully how it affects her, and I know that’s coming. So that’s some of the things I think about. Like, when I can see her emotions or I can see how she’s feeling, and I often will think, 'I’m going to be in her shoes,' and it’s scary."

Also, a preview into the second part of this interview, where Rose Ann talks about learning she has 4 of the 5 autoantibodies and will likely develop T1D herself. “I’m actually usually very reluctant to tell people that I’m on Medicaid. I’m very grateful that it’s there for me. But I get frustrated with what I can’t do within that, and I think there’s a huge misconception about people who qualify for it.”
